Called United Express and did a FaceTime estimate which went from $4,400 to more than $10K. It was subcontracted to Green Planet, LLC (A Colorado Company).
She moved from Aurora to West Virginia and hired Movers On Demand. They offered to sell some of her furniture on consignment (around $1,500 in value).
Rented a pod 5-years ago and loaded it with tools. It now sits in their storage yard because his new destination is not in their delivery area.
Searched for rental trucks to move his son. He was then contacted by a woman who quoted $2,275K for two guys to load, drive and unload. Then a second person called back and increased it to $2,500. He paid an $800 deposit. Truck showed up, guy walked thru the house and raised it to $20K+.
She thought she hired United Moving & Storage, who she said sent a company called, Green Planet Movers. But she was not really dealing with United. Green Planet gave her a phone estimate of 969 cubic feet for $3,700. But the final price is $1,900 more. She is seeking advice.
Christie hired Safe Ship Moving Saturday evening. Paid $5073 on her Capital One Visa for. $12K. They claimed she was getting all kinds of discounts. She got cold feet and canceled with Capital One.

Daughter moving to Denver from Syracuse, NY. They hired a NJ moving “broker”. Initial deposit $570 to broker. When they came to pick up stuff (Jan 15th), paid another $375. $572 due upon delivery (which was supposed to be within 2-weeks). No guaranteed delivery date but said it would be 30 biz days.
